Retirement Outside the Box

Susan Talton | Retirement | December 21, 2016

Once again, Carl Richards has nailed a complex topic — retirement — with his “back of the napkin” sketches.  In a recent New York Times article, Richards’ four drawings (inluding the one at left) essentially capture all the ways to think about retirement.

While I don’t agree with Richards’ premise that Traditional Retirement is outdated, and work closely with clients who are enjoying their own retirement quite a bit, thank you very much, Richards is definitely spot on that having options is the key. That’s the core of the work we do with clients: helping them sketch out their personal vision and providing coaching and investment help all along the way.
