Seattle is a world leader in cancer research and treatment, and much of that work is done at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, near Lake Union. To support the incredible work that is happening every day at the Hutch, Laird Norton Wealth Management is sponsoring “President’s Circle,” a series of talks by leading researchers and scientists.

The first talk, this past Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, focused on how Hutch researchers are using the immense volume of data available today to generate important insights on preventing and treating cancer and other diseases. The speakers: Chris Li, Ph.D., MPH and Pete Nelson M.D. (see photo).

Chris Li is a breast cancer researcher and co-leader of the Hutch’s award-winning cancer registry, which combines more than 40 years of data to help researchers pinpoint risk and improve prevention. Pete Nelson is the Endowed Chair for Prostate Cancer Research at the Hutch and a leader in identifying new and more precise ways to personalize cancer care and treatment.
