We are delighted to announce that Ronald G. Albahary, CFA will be joining Laird Norton Wealth Management (LNWM) as chief investment officer. Ron will be taking over the role from Gino Perrina, who since joining the firm in 2015 has helped transform LNWM’s investment platform, developed an incredible team, and been a dedicated partner to both clients and colleagues.
A 30-year veteran of the wealth and investment management industry, Ron will lead all aspects of investment strategy and research at LNWM, manage our world-class investment platform, and be a key member of LNWM’s leadership team as we continue to grow by offering integrated, comprehensive solutions for our clients’ complex needs. Ron will officially become CIO of LNWM in mid-July 2021 and until then will be working closely with Gino Perrina and the other members of LNWM IS&R (Investment Strategy & Research) to ensure a smooth transition.
Ron’s wealth of experience is exceptional and uniquely suited to designing investment solutions for LNWM clients. He has held leadership positions with institutions such as Merrill Lynch and Northern Trust Private Bank and served as CIO and/or CEO at boutique firms focused on ultra-high-net-worth families and foundations, such as Threshold Group, Legacy Advisors and Convergent Wealth Advisors. Over the course of his career, he has led investment teams responsible for over $170 billion in assets under management, led and grown advisory firms and partnered directly with families as their advisor. He is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
The critical role of the CIO, Ron believes, is working with advisors to design solutions that are truly aligned with client goals as well as shepherding client assets during periods of intense market volatility. He has decades of experience guiding investment policy and advising clients during market turbulence, including through the tech bubble, the Great Financial Crisis, and most recently the global pandemic. He is a big believer in transparency, clear and understandable communication with clients, and inspiring both his team and clients to arrive at the best possible results.
