Headlines discussed at LNWM’s Monday morning briefing:

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said he expects “very strong” US economy growth and job growth in the 2nd half of 2021.

US producer prices rose 1% in March and are up 4.2% the past 12 months, the biggest annual rise since 2011.

About 2.1 million Americans — 24% of those unemployed — have been jobless for over a year.

The US trade deficit rose 4.5% in Feb. to a record $71 billion, on strong demand for imports from China.

Germany’s trade surplus rose 1% in Feb. to about $23 billion, boosted by exports to China.
