Top-of-mind economic news as we start the week:

U.S. GDP grew at a 2.9% annual rate in the 3rd quarter 2022 (July – Sept.), indicating U.S. economy was not in recession going into 4th quarter.

263,000 new jobs were added in the U.S. in November, more than expected.

U.S. consumer confidence fell in November, with fewer people believing their incomes will increase in the short term.

The November Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for U.S. manufacturing and services sectors indicated economic contraction (below 50 readings).

— All packaging used in the European Union must be fully recyclable by 2030, per new rules proposed by the European Commission.
